Dear Students and Parents:
Marketing is the process of determining consumer needs and then directing products, ideas and services to meet those needs. This course is designed to prepare students for careers in marketing, management, business, and business ownership. This class is found in the Business Career Paths. The class incorporates marketing core concept foundations: Marketing, Business and Human Resource foundations, and the functions of marketing; selling, promotion, distribution, risk management, pricing, purchasing, marketing information management, product/service planning, financing, general merchandising standards, career awareness, leadership, and general employment skills. Leadership skills will be reinforced through participation in a national marketing organization, DECA. Students may elect to be involved with DECA at the local, district, state, and national levels. Students choosing to be members of DECA may have the opportunity to receive recognition, awards and scholarships.
ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: Any student involved in dishonesty on any work will be subject to one, some, or all of the following: an automatic zero on the work; suspension from class; a referral to the Administration; and/or a conference between an administrator, the parents, and the teacher.
* Overall - No student should interfere with the learning of another student.
GRADING SYSTEM: Will be determined as follows:
ASSIGNMENTS/QUIZZES/TESTS 80%
FINAL EXAM 10%
WRITTEN PROJECT 10%
Scale: 90- 100% = A
80 - 89% = B
70 - 79% = C
60 - 69% = D
59% or below is an F
Donate your assignment program! If you are kind enough to not put your name on an assignment, it may be donated (at my discretion) to the weakest student in the class at that time.
